Our Story

Be Well was created for families who want more than scattered information and rushed support. We believe the perinatal season deserves tenderness, preparation, and trusted guidance for both parents, especially because paternal mental health and maternal wellbeing are closely connected during pregnancy and postpartum.

The Team

Candace Jackson

Candace brings together evidence-informed perinatal education, compassionate doula care, and herbal wellness to help families feel calm, prepared, and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Her approach is nurturing, grounded, and deeply personalized. Whether she's walking alongside a family during labor, teaching childbirth education, creating custom herbal formulations, or offering postpartum guidance, Candace's goal is always the same:

To help parents feel confident in their decisions and supported every step of the way.

To provide every client with the highest level of personalized care, Candace accepts only a limited number of birth doula clients each month.

Kelajah Shepard

Kelajah brings calm, steady support to growing families while creating intentional space for fathers and partners during the perinatal journey.

His work recognizes something that's often overlooked:

When fathers are emotionally supported and prepared, the entire family benefits.

Through childbirth education, birth support, postpartum care, and father-centered conversations, Kelajah helps partners feel informed, confident, and connected throughout pregnancy and early parenthood.

His presence reflects Be Well's belief that every parent deserves guidance—not just during birth, but throughout the transition into family life.

Our Philosophy

We believe:

• Preparation creates confidence.

• Families deserve more than rushed appointments and internet searches.

• Mothers thrive when they feel supported.

• Fathers and partners deserve support, too.

• Mental, emotional, and physical wellness are deeply connected.

• Birth is not simply a medical event. It's a family transformation.
